It Takes A Rose To Light A Tomb

Rising to greet the morning
Darkness slumber washed away from the night
Eyes of sorrow, eyes strain to open to greet the coming day
Throw on the cloths that cover the vail of empty inside
Step out to the overcast day, a chill creeps inside these bones

A light grey covered the sky, a light rain fell
Clasping covered hands to warm,
A hat pulled to hide, to shade from the pain
A while has passed from a light now gone
A warmth from whence a rose bloomed
The pedals of a heart closed not to open again

A memory, distant of a hand held
A memory, distant of a dance in his eyes
A memory, memories of a time where light shown
This heart it has now become like a tomb

Dance, dance, by my lovers side
Dance, dance, arms entwinded in a passion embrace
Music, music, fills the night and days
A 6/8 rhythm, a 3 4 pulse,
Legato...,
Staccato...,
Rest in her arms

A memory, of a hand held
A memory, of a dance in his eyes
A memory, memories from a time that bloomed
A time where his heart, beat from the light, of a rose

Back to a time where the light of a rose
Back to a time where her eyes shown
Memories of a time where love bloomed
A time where his heart, beat from the light, of a rose

Author's Note
So working on another Opera tune after seeing some Opera performers the other night. It is quite different writing for this genre as lyrics have more of a cadence a bounce to them, but as always I enjoy the challenge. I wrote this to be performed by a Baritone.
