SOCIETAL EDUCATORS

To see society picture a perfect existence
and be baffled over the perpetual motion of an unattainble reality
is a simple ignorance accepted by all of us.

What defines our existence is a blanket statement that one should just, "try harder" or
make the choice to adhere to a standard that is deemed appropriate;
or at least accepted by the the fortunate few who hold a philosophy
that one's human condition is a matter of culture, or something physiological.
They choose to see themselves as the norm and remain impervious to
the condition of society as a whole.
Definition of one's self suffers at the implied criticism uponbeing treated unfairly, it goes against the assumption that a humane person must be inclusive toward humanity.

After all, an educated person whose experience in life is defined by scholarly works, still has no real experience of reality.
It hurts to see society torn between a degree gained for a blanket education versus the knowledge of a time tested, self-educated person whose work is defined by experience, rather than through the medium of the lecture hall and the lab.
Reality doen't happen in the lab.
My life, and of most of society is built on experience and on reality...not on an education that is unattainable to the many and available to only the few
A person should be valued for knowledge gained through experience...not for just what they ''know''...
knowledge needs to be applied, to experience...and that takes experience.

Thank you Ely from Poetry Medics. I could not have done this without you.
With the spotlight these past few days on the corruption that has occurred in our higher education system. I stand firmly with this piece. Knowledge must also be obtained from life experience to become an expert in any field. No one can buy a degree and call themselves educated without first hand experience.
