let me decay

let me decay in dignity
within the confines
of my own incarceration
somewhere i can feel safe

torment me not
from the jar of my failed existence
and wastefulness
but i guess this is something
You're not prepared to let go

with every sunlight, rise and fall
over my narrowed eyes
will i be unwavering in the darkest glow i sleep
if only my convictions keep me still
until it is all over

in the distance i see footsteps
of walkers heading patiently to my past
where those i once loved await

i slowly crawl back into my sorrows
holding myself close enough
intricately peeling away
every moment i once lived
until im left with just bones
amongst bones

my soul is finally Your's to keep
