Resurrection
I should set myself free
From what he wants me to be.
I’m a fool
Making too many
Mistakes
And I wait
For him
To respond…
Tormented by this vice
Of my own making.
I should release
Myself the burden
Of caring
Of staring
At my phone
Release myself
From this man
Who will never come.
Listen to
….a pale
voice in a desperate struggle
(....he doesn’t
……...want
...your love…
……..just enough applause
from you……..
……………..to appease
……his vulnerable ego)
He flourishes because of
The words of the dead
The words that he said
Before he died
Blooming in the weeds
I never pulled.
I am not that girl.
I am not the body
That soured
His soul.
From what he wants me to be.
I’m a fool
Making too many
Mistakes
And I wait
For him
To respond…
Tormented by this vice
Of my own making.
I should release
Myself the burden
Of caring
Of staring
At my phone
Release myself
From this man
Who will never come.
Listen to
….a pale
voice in a desperate struggle
(....he doesn’t
……...want
...your love…
……..just enough applause
from you……..
……………..to appease
……his vulnerable ego)
He flourishes because of
The words of the dead
The words that he said
Before he died
Blooming in the weeds
I never pulled.
I am not that girl.
I am not the body
That soured
His soul.
