Xanadoo

I remember when
we used to get the blues
Footballs are what
you called em
Sometimes peaches
or yellows
Didn't matter as long
as we got good
and mellow
Now them robin's eggs speckled belly bitches
were bad ass
They had me saying
Hello, what's my name
again dad
Yeah man, that's back when shit was fun
In those days we wasn't hurting no one
And who really gives
a damn if that ain't
exactly true
When you got the blues
you just don't give a fuck
It's like hey, I love you
Dude, you suck
Ha ha ha, yeah
Way back when
was cool
Couple of stupid ass
fools in love
or just too
drugged up to see
what we didn't want to see
You know what I mean
But I thought we had
everything
And what does it mean
when you believe a lie
If you're happy to fly
Sure a lot better
than pounding through
gallons of whiskey
I can't even see
How we made it out alive
some of those nights
Puking and pissing
screaming and screwing
What the hell did we think
we were doing with
all that poison to drink
Lucky it didn't
kill you and me or that
we didn't kill each other
Probably would have
if we hadn't found another
way to get through the day
Xanadoos and weed
helped for awhile
and it calmed everything way the fuck down
To some version of
what normal should be
at least as far
as we could see
Always looking at objects
that were closer
than they seemed
to anxiety addiction
warped reality
No wonder it broke
with all the bullshit
and smoking we did
and poppin pills
Little footballs
were our favorites
When the blues came around
