The Mirror
Is there any place to hide from yourself,
Escape the devil in the mirror?
Can you trust your own feet to take you there,
Or will they lead you into your own jaws?
Could the devil himself be an illusion,
Nothing more than lies to test your sanity?
Do you have to run anywhere at all?
Am I strong enough to face the mirror,
Fierce enough to send that bastard running?
Will my feet refuse to run to my death,
Standing firmly on my last shreds of hope?
Who has more substance, me or that liar?
Would my fists pass right through his smiling face?
What would it be like to just be myself?
Escape the devil in the mirror?
Can you trust your own feet to take you there,
Or will they lead you into your own jaws?
Could the devil himself be an illusion,
Nothing more than lies to test your sanity?
Do you have to run anywhere at all?
Am I strong enough to face the mirror,
Fierce enough to send that bastard running?
Will my feet refuse to run to my death,
Standing firmly on my last shreds of hope?
Who has more substance, me or that liar?
Would my fists pass right through his smiling face?
What would it be like to just be myself?
