And mist feels damp
Trees cast longing shadows
and mist feels damp; still
brittle sunshine presses
reluctant blossom to frail
and tentative appearances,
until loss and separation
is almost forgotten;
As love-making takes heed
of dawn, I'll note you glory
in naming last night's stars;
you sow sensual symphonies
in my quivering, reluctant heart,
though it's still shadowed
by mist-filled, longing need.
