What’s Woke???

What’s woke?

Woke is being broke

Well, What’s broke?

Broke is digging into your pockets and pulling out Dust and words

Words that no one will ever believe

A “wake” in the matrix is a like a bad dream

Looking left and right

Frantically trying to shake the sleep

An arrogant act of pure insanity

Knowing only  people wield the power to wake themselves.

It is accepting the body as a genetic jail

Then going through hell to shake the cells

No coincidence we were taught to fear it

Whether religious or atheistic

When the subconscious mirrors it

It manifests in spirit’

What’s woke?

Woke is having all the weapons for war

And no one to share them with

Woke is knowing only one war exist

The war against US in our bustling arrogance; the people.

It’s seeing the emotional ignorance in a slit wrist
And the broken mirror that was shattered to make the cut.
Suicide tops the billboard; the broken record
Breaking records by the month.

It’s a sickness, boiling in your gut
It’s a headache, keeping you awake
In the Mourning of the night.
It’s every one going left because they think;
You think you are always right.

It’s letting go of trauma, and abuse you have been hoarding

To be Woke, is to know being wrong is the most rewarding

Woke is wisdom, woke is research
It’s research for the research you already researched
Only to go on a re-search for yourself

It is joy with wealth of spiritual health
When hope is a noose rope and
Tongues are gavels.

Demans make one sound
When their thoughts are scrambled

“Whatchu Mean?”

Woke was once low self esteem

Woke knows if Earth is Flat or Round

And knows;
Knowing makes no difference
If none of us have been to the moon,
Or the Stars that surround.

Woke is losing faith in everything but yourself
The only power you can truly mold and control.
An extension of the God, himself,
Gene spliced with the cosmos in Between two poles.

Yeah about strippin’
Strippin’ until there’s nothing left
Except tears and sweat from test and reps
Then expecting a blessing
Because you took the steps
Knowing it will all work out, nonetheless

What’s woke?

Woke is being the butt of every joke until it stops being funny
It’s being outshined by the “sun”
Until it stops being sunny

Seeing Jesus as a stepping stone
Instead of a savior,
Knowing  Externalization of all faith creates a mute prayer
Knowing our sin-full nature has the power to negate nature
And any and every plan divinely written by the creator.

It’s hearing whispers through walls because They wouldn’t dare spark confrontation

Woke does not know intimidation
Especially when debating a timid nation

It’s fighting yourself more than everyone else
And somehow hurting them in the crossfire

It’s looking at your parents and saying “No Offense, but y’all all liars.”

It’s looking at my previous statement,
and
Seeing love bleed through the syllables

The final lesson

Woke knows more principles than principal.

Woke is more monastery, then monetary

When your walk becomes meditation

Your words are calmed and ready

Woke is not Illuminati theory or a sellouts medley

Woke is being hated for wanting what’s “Good”, but unsettling.

Woke is the appreciation of misunderstanding.
Then Over-standing
That your purpose remains the same
No matter where the world is Standing.
What the worlds demanding
What UFOz are landing
What presidents name the lambs are chanting..
Or What helly wood spells are entrancing

So what’s woke?

Author's Note
This poem found me more than I found it. So often society compartmentalizes a theme or idea that is so broad that the true message gets lost in translation. I believe this poem truly embodies what it is to live a “Woke” experience on this plain. It is not about color but “race”. It is about war through peace. It is about overcoming everything that dims your light from the moment you leave the womb. It is about becoming everything you never wanted to be and then stripping yourself of it to become whole again. This is in my opinion one of my best love poems.
