[ Politics & Religion ] Darkness Reigns

    
Guillotine, macabre eating machine    
chomping off another pissant peasant head    
Irrelevant bloodlines spilled    
Baskets overflow with the killed    
filled with dripping poetic verse---     
recitals of disembodied dead    
    
Non-compliance, defiance  
of decrees by the Throne    
swallowed whole by shadow, dying alone    
Waterboarded with one's own hot breath    
while listening to the ass-inine excuses    
for being put to death    
     
And the reign of darkness continues    
Black hoods custom fit, drawn  
over eyes vacant of hope    
   
The only saving grace?    
Swift, merciful exit    
at the end of your rope      
   
Guillotine, industrial sorting machine    
Baskets loaded into horse drawn cart      
pulled through townsquare where    
opinionated heads are tossed    
through the air without a care---   
being vocal comes at a cost      
   
So choose your words wisely    
Speak not ill of any Royal    
Incentive to stay loyal?    
Do as they say    
Do as you are told    
Increase your chances of growing old    
     
Guaranteed removal of obstinate brains    
Lyrics freed from severed arteries and veins    
Freedom is knowing the limitations of chains      
Neverending is our darkness that reigns
