Artemis
Leto evades a covetous Hera
Sanctuary found on Delos
She born in the wild Flora
Artemis, assisted her mother to deliver her brother, and when asked her deepest desire, she yearned to be chaste forever.
Appear oh, athlete divine
With a crescent moon crown, carrying silver bow and arrow
Presiding over the Kordax, where devotees in animal masquerade gyrate hips and torso undulates in ecstasy; enter, oh, possessive majesty!
That of which Callisto knows
When she sought your flesh in Sapphic tryst
Yet was tricked by a devious Zeus
Made laden with child
An Artemis defied had her transmogrified into an Ursa
Releasing her into the savage wild
A domain over which she presides
Sacred huntress, crescent moon her bow
She shoots her arrows
A dichotomy divine
Goddess of death, bringer of pestilence
She sweeps up in the hunt
The frail, fragile and dying alike
And those unlucky to stray too far that night
After holding a mass of the lascivious rite of Beltane
A wild act in a feral domain
Surrounded by nymphs and guiding hounds given by Pan
She seeks, destroys and grants new birth as the moon spins upon your fate, hail Artemis!

I've always been fascinated by the deer huntress of mythology. A deer was considered a sacred animal, which the Gods, or later God, uses to lure people to their destiney.
As proff; nearly all of Ovid's tales from the Metamorphosis, as well as nearly every Robin Hood Tales, start with someone other admiring or hunting a magnificent deer.
