Operation Procedure Abnormal

When I eventually arrived
I wax damaged goods
A defective unit
That still worked in a fashion
No obvious fault

Broken from the start
Seeing the world through different eyes
Trying to understand what was wrong
The blueprint didn’t quite match
Operation procedure abnormal

Managed to escape notice
Suffering in silence
Connections not quite connected
Misfiring thoughts so confusing
Stumbling through the mire

There but not there
In the world but not part of it
Clearly not made for it
There’s no returns policy
Life accepted me as seen
