Blank stare

So with my retirement these days
There’s a lot on my mind
With 24 hours in a day
A lot of devils idle time
But my mind always seems to wander
To a love, that I still have
The love for an incredible woman
That in life , had once crossed my path
Her smile was anyways so bright
Her laugh was always so cute
Her eyes were ever so inviting
Sex so fulfilling , there never was a dispute
Sure my family now has gotten bigger
Grand daughters are growing up fast
And my marriage is moving along
Yet I’m still clinging to the past
To the time when my soul reached out
And felt love of another kind
A kind in which there’s no end
And never will be in this life time
This woman let it be known
Had given me love , from another space and time
Had sent my life ablaze ,
And the Sex that, well, just blew my mind
So if you catch me staring these days
Yes , when I get that blank look in my eyes
You can bet I’m thinking of her
And the moments I shared in between her thighs
It is better to have loved and lost
Than to have never loved at all
But it’s best to have the love we shared
And my memory button stuck , with her on total recall
