Dreamscape

Afflicted with vivid dreams
Too real, or so it seems
Extrapolations on the day
The visions that decide to stay

One involves her walking out
Fed up with me, a foolish lout
Chances are she will be gone
With me feeling like the devil's spawn

Another invokes family
Scattered far across the sea
I miss them, each and every one
Communications? There are none

One more of gazing in the mirror
A reflection bringing on the fear
Of lines that prove advancing age
Eyes narrowed, and filled with rage

I waken slowly around noon
Feel my life around me strewn
The alarm clock rings a warning bell
But I mutter "Oh what the hell...".
