Mind Like an Island

Extra, extra baby
Read it all in papers
Hidden away safely
If you read them
Then you've read my mind

Mind like an island
No man is supposed to be
If you read my mind
Please, will you marry me
And I'll read yours in kind

How did it happen
That it all got shut away?
Good old way back when
My heart was out all day
Now I'm stranded on my island

I know I've got my walls
Built up pretty high
When my defense falls
Though I can't imagine why

I'll be less a far out land
And more a place to play
