To The Bone

The chill of January
settles in bone
a frigid invasion

the warmth
calls to me

the weight of blankets
her speckled skin
next to me
clinging

shivers subside
near hot places

legs entangled
pinned to the mattress

the creeping humidity
of summer reborn.
