Sweet, May She Be

May she always come to you as vivid as a dream; nearly so, that you almost cry           Bringing forth a rattle within your bones; stirring and shaking you so
Blessed be her voice;  hovering about you as if clouds over treetops high
Ever should you be a ship lost at sea; she -  your anchor from a wretched undertow

May you feel ever so wondrous - as if being at the summit of the greatest mountain           Cherish and nourish her so; as she brings the scribbling thoughts you wish to have     May she replenish your mind; free flowing knowledge like a fresh spring fountain           Her language and dialect to fall upon your paper; your ink, to then be a healing salve

May you hear even a whisper at your ear; she, like a conch shell washed upon shore Guiding the pen; mind and hand eager, but your tongue left rendered without speech
If ever grieving words lost;  may she be the most welcome of knocks outside your door Sweet,  be your Muse; always gifting your mind the writing you so earnestly beseech

Shall she stay within; never allowing your words to just merely shrivel up and die         May she always come to you as vivid as a dream; nearly so, that you almost cry
