Epidemic of emptiness pt.1

Cowered in the corner
the lost species sat speechless.
Glancing at the calendar
the days slip away.
They couldn't see
the deceptions
they attached themselves to
 throughout their time,
Twas the true existential crime.

But the monkey mind morphs moments into something detached so far beyond "reality".
In the midst of mental devastation
they broke down and drowned beneath the raging waves of subliminal schizophrenia.

There is no real nor rationalizations
only blurred perceptions and denial
and self manipulation
and slithering shadows and
tears tears tears.

The horrors of humanoid life
no answers no control over anything
No control.

What a marvelous mirage they wanted to manifest.
The growing species just sifts through specific simulations
and the "kind, caring" governments
warp the masses mentality
into mediocre mindless
motives for money.
And out there past the poor
the rich keep making more,
the distractions intensify
as advertisements amplify
and they all want more of everything till
the resources start to run dry
and the primates start to run wild.
Were they blinded by the delusions passed down through each generation?
Getting caught in the cycles
of confusion and separation
from what I believe "reality" was meant to be.

"But we're alright, see the suicides rising?"
More shock value for the news.
And over the borders more madness surrounds,
an epidemic of emptiness escaping
the low level of awareness,
to busy mistaking fantasy for actually feeling something in this wheel of time.
