white woman takes on politics
There are some who want the wall
They want to build it thick and tall
They fear the drugs that come across
And death that comes from cartel boss
And there are some who hate the wall
Cannot believe some have the gall
To let kids starve in wired cells
To kick down those who’ve been through hell
They say there’s human trafficking
Raping those in caravan ring
Not a crisis some would claim
Everyone looking for someone to blame
I wrote this work as if a child
For children is how adults can be
The media circus has some beguiled
But I know they can’t fool me.
The truth lies somewhere in the middle
Go on —
keep swallowing the bull.
They want to build it thick and tall
They fear the drugs that come across
And death that comes from cartel boss
And there are some who hate the wall
Cannot believe some have the gall
To let kids starve in wired cells
To kick down those who’ve been through hell
They say there’s human trafficking
Raping those in caravan ring
Not a crisis some would claim
Everyone looking for someone to blame
I wrote this work as if a child
For children is how adults can be
The media circus has some beguiled
But I know they can’t fool me.
The truth lies somewhere in the middle
Go on —
keep swallowing the bull.
