Little Bird

Little bird, little bird, wherefore art thou?
Little bird, little bird, who's shadow lies glued to the floor.
Little bird, little bird, who caws in the night, and who's hunter's efforts you slough.
Little bird, little bird, of legend and of lore,
Little bird, little bird, high above my head,
Little bird, little bird, who feasts on the worm of the rotten love apple,
Little bird, little bird, who feasts upon the dead.
Little bird, little bird, at the unfortunate you cackle,
Little bird, little bird, who vanishes from sight by nary a word nor a prayer,
Though words yourself, you seem to mumble.
Little bird, little bird, who's dreams you shatter.
Little bird, little bird, why must thou hide?
Little bird, little bird, as black as the night,
Little bird, little bird, on jewels you subside.
Little bird, little bird, here to take what's mine, go ahead, it's only pyrite...
Little bird, little bird, trickster, your intent, your purpose, here is known,
Little bird, little bird, king after king, you dethrone.
