LOVE AND COINS
LOVE AND COINS
Man needs love in this cruel world,
but most people are absurd.
You give them what they need most;
they look at you with distrust.
People love whom they will need,
who will give them food and gold.
You want people to love you,
chink them your coins; they will do.
You are wealthy, all love you.
They hear your word; it's their clue.
No one can resist your will
even if you are a fool.
This is man; he leaves your heart
and looks at your cash and vest.
What your heart yields he neglects,
but your pocket him affects.
