Losing a pet is one of the hardest things to go thru. There is just pure love

I agree with you wholeheartedly, my friend. If only they could live forever.

AS soon as I started reading this it brought back quite a few times I have known this feeling as well in my life. Always so so hard to say goodbye to a pet in that they become so much of ones life. Great write and just have to keep this one so on the reading list it goes : )

Thank you so very much for the empathy and add. It means a lot to me. I lost one unexpectedly a few months back and atleast I have time to prepare if such a thing exists. I've rescued and lost so many and it sure hasn't gotten any easier. Thanks again!!

Truly a very emotional write. It's a pain that whoever loves the innocence of trustworthy creature is bound to go through. I too have my two girls, one of which is showing the pains and weakness of age. She's always a baby to me, even now that she is close to her 9th year of age. It will break my heart but I can only say that life is a bitter journey. Hugs J

Life is indeed a very bitter journey, but atleast we are granted a small but precious amount of time to know and feel the greatest love of all. This was beautiful to read, it brings up all the feelings I've been feeling anyway lately because my pomeranian is 13 years old and I know the end is coming. She's frailer than she used to be, and has little old lady warts the same as my first dog who died 3 years ago. It's so sad to think a being who's been in your life and who's loved you so much will be gone soon. Lucy is sweet to everyone, and she likes to be by herself but she's really playful when she feels like it and will throw sticks in the air. She always comes to me to let her out, even if I'm 4 rooms away and there's someone else right there with her haha. And when I wake up around 9 AM she'll be waiting at my door for her 'second breakfast' xD What's your pet like?

I have 3 rescue kitties left. 1 is 8 and hates humans. Lol. One is a 14 year old snazzy sassy one who sings/cries all day..this cat is 13 and 1/2 and has had an eye removed and the other is now in bad shape. The worst is he's developed calcifications that are growing quickly.  He's on prednisone and acts like a kitten but we he doesn't anymore, then it's time. Thank you for asking!

If you put your heart and love into it then it's species is irrelevant, friendship can blossom and be just as strong with a non human animal. Never feel guilty for loving and feeling hurt when the object of your love passes.

Beautiful read. I did not connotate this with a pet until your words at the end but I can understand how much emotion the passing of much loved pet animal (what is yours?) can be, especially when seen in women pet owners.

I don't know if you have read CS Lewis' 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' but the picture reminded me of the sacrifice of Aslan the Lion who was a friend to the child characters.

I feel your pain. Loss of a beloved pet is like looking a child. Our pets give us true unconditional love. My deep hearted condolences dear.🙏😢🌹
