Thank you Crim, not sure what 'thug life' is (some kind of auto-correct typo?) but it sounds as if serendipity is at work. Glad you liked the poem. Take care as the New Year unravels with all its unknowns. Josh.  :))

Excellent work, Josh.  One detail:  I believe the spelling of the first word is "energized," not "energised."  But that's just a quibble.  You're one of the finest poets here.

Thank you again Crowfly for the read, and RL. You got me running for my dictionary to check out the spelling - even though mine's a 1976 edition of of the Concise Oxford Dictionary, spelling was already noted as either/or with 's' or 'z' - so I guess 40 years on it might be 'z' by now. But it got me thinking about how poetry flows for the reader. We don't want the reader to stumble or do a double-take, over some unknown word/phrase/grammer-point etc; not so easy these days with an international audience - but I guess that's the joy of it.  
I've just realised (realized?) I've done a similar thing with a reply to Crim's comment above, re the phrase "thug life" - which I'd never heard of and thought it was a spelling/auto-correct error. Now I've found out it's a hip-hop phrase (should have looked it up on google first before commenting). Any way, it's a poor day if you don't learn something new  :))
