Back at day 1
I am back here again
A comfortable pain
Heroin, call it by name
It doesn't matter what I want
it doesn't matter what I say
The only thing that matters is the action I take
They won't remember my intentions
My smile will fade
The only thing that matters is the action I take
I want to live
I want to thrive
I want to give
I don't want to die
This trap
wrapped in aluminium foil
wants me back
wants me in toil

Bad at participation
When the only thing on my mind
is waiting to get high
If everything I experience is not me
Why is it such a riddle why I am so incomplete?
I cheated life when I found it
Now without I have been regrounded
I need to let go of everything
the voices in my mind
The ego the corrupted drive
This moment is enough
God, I pray this moment is enough
I don't trust who I have become

Incredibly powerful poetry, man. Addiction is no joke. You literally summed up the cognitive dissonance that any addict with a conscience will experience. You can overcome your addiction. You're down, probably depressed, your self esteem is shot, but you're not dead yet!
I have something special to show you. One of my greatest inspirations as a human being is a man named Jason Becker. This man was a killer guitarist... I mean, he was known all over the world for his skills. But at just 19, he was diagnosed with ALS (a motor neuron disease), and was given only a few years to live. The disease completely paralyzed him, but he's still alive... 30 years later! And here's the real inspirational part: he's still making music. He just released a new album last month!! This incredible man is composing music, note by note, with computer software and his eyes.
I encourage you to check him out on YouTube. He really made me feel like anything is possible. I know it probably won't help too much, but it's worth
a shot.
