Maybe This Year

I lie in the misery
that my identity
is hijacked

Once a blossom
of radiant color,
I've greyed through
these years

When it hurts to smile
I know that
the emotional pollution
has repercussions

Maybe this year,
my body will work with my mind again
and I won't feel so divided.
