The way that clouds feel

A strange feeling has been washing over me
like waves brushing driftwood
reminding me
with fingers trailing in my hair
lingering a moment longer
every time they touch my parched skin

I'm not alone anymore
for a while now
and for a while longer
I have this embrace
and I will feel it forever
never more so
than when it finally fades

I think
in those restful moments
nestled within raging storms
of the warmth that shelters me
so strong that she snatches moments
to reassure me
in the midst of the oceans rage
she finds a moment still
to cradle me

this thing
wether it lasts a lifetime
or just a moment more
all allegories aside
it will always be my treasure
