Image for the poem sojourner

sojourner

the winds blew in the hollow places
awakening my senses
I came alive to the truth of the universes
I was ushered into the deserts
where I had visions of what was intended

a life's path I would travel
not alone but with many sojourners of this universe
we came on a light beam
into this dimension
to exchange sacred knowledge with one another

to the highest peaks to the lowest valleys
we were meant to gather information
about what it is to be human
different races of intelligence
eagerly receive our transmissions

to be human...
what it is to be human
this is a knowledge they deeply desire
we touch in a way that is foreign to them

there is a creator or one we call God
a being they've never met
but have seen in this realm of existence
they seek to intervene
on our behalf while we journey
but are not allowed
because it would alter the truth of the experience

this species wishes to learn humanity
a calculating intelligence
has tasted our experiences
still has little knowledge of what is to be human
because it takes a soul full of wisdom
gleaned by the overcoming of suffering

today we tasted tears
yet know little of sadness
transmissions out
send data when able
