there is no pleasing everyone
is it a fool who puts pen to paper?
scribbling the nonsensical views of the heart
leaving an indelible mark
non erasable  
 
is it an opening to a lie
we tell ourselves?
 
"I love you"  
a black mark  
on white paper  
so easily crushed into a wad  
 
is there no mercy
in the opening  
of a fragile heart?  
 
one must consider  
if it is ever worth it  
 
yet, there she finds herself
doing it again and again
