Under the Wrong Assumption

You mistake me Sir, for cheap bric-a-brac.
Although my words speak bluntly,
please do not confuse them with some cut-price bargain.
I expose my heart,
and my mind,
and my secrets,
but they are not yours to take.
Take a step back Sir, you lack finesse and panache,
And possess a certain I-know-exactly-what.
You see, there is no mystery about you, nor subtlety.
There are not enough barge poles to space between us, and if you try to invade that, I warn you:
The physical strength I lack, will be more than recompensed by the swords from my tongue.
You mistake me Sir, for cheap bric-a-brac.
I will not give myself so freely,
That your spare change will do.
I know my worth,
I have value,
I own myself.
But do not think me heartless, and cruel;
You've had fair warning,
I'm not for sale.
You mistake me Sir, for cheap bric-a-brac.
