A pretty gamble
You've captured my eyes,
but will you meet me halfway?
For I've had numerous tries,
and none of them stayed.
It's not your fault that I'm cautious,
you can blame their mistakes.
See I'm used to the losses,
but they've marked me with stains.
I've scrubbed at my skin,
but it's beneath all the layers.
Desertion within,
I'm used to the traitors.
I've welcomed them in,
like a prison of such.
Where love doesn't win
and you miss it so much.
You could cause me more pain,
yet you could be my forever.
so with much more to gain,
I'll roll the dice that you're better.
