We used to be hands-free

So many people phone in face
The brightness, the attention
You got from detention
Or whatever else may be
We used to be hands-free
You see
When you're in a room full of people talking
You don't have the heart to spill what's on your mind
So you carry on walking
Walking, with a phone in hand
Sharing to the world what's on your 'newsfeed'
As you give the world some more on your thoughts
Gaining "likes" and attention
But look up and around you
People want to reach you
But the answers are short and brief
And when it gets too much
To your disbelief
You make an excuse to leave
"I gotta scroll"
We used to be hands-free
