IntensityxDuration=The Force of Impact

Exercising my right
To feign
Like a woman
Also
Made me
Good for
Getting
My ass
Kicked
All round
That
Studio
Professionalism
Wasn’t
Having
No mercy
On me
Because of
My size
Either
Like a
Lightning
Fast stroke
Of my Mother
Before my eyes
White hands
Imitated
That belt choke
One hard time
(Not a word between her and I)
Weakening
Eyes
Didn’t phase
Any body part
That carried the
Dance
Combinations
In your smirk
So brutal
Looking
As if, as if
I wasn’t
There and
Harmless
Pointers
Felt
Very personal
Softening the
“Political”
Learning
Curve
For me
And
George Krantz’
Din Daa Daa
Playing in the
Background
Realizing
Practice
Wasn’t going to
Ever be
As grown as you
So we
Never
Challenged
Marked
Excellence
Again
Which
Changed my life
Profoundly
Acute
In knowing
When to quit
While there is
Still
Some dignity
Intact;
Life wasn’t
Always
Going to be
Even
Quite that
Temperate
With me
And we learned.
(For that I thank you, Debra; most people, a lot of people don't truly know when they've had enough. The shit women taught me.)
