Breathless
I would so like to be able to breathe;
To realise your love's a memory;
Your words stay beautiful, but they have ceased
To mean my heart aches on; predictably,
It was intense and deep; you loved my want;
You seeded me with faith to keep me straight;
My heart beat faintly while it bore the brunt
Of all the senses you stole to create
Firm barriers to hold ideas constrained;
To force my heart to impasse; when I halt,
It never pours, but it has always rained;
Slowly I learned this climate was your fault;
You've built me up so much I now believe
You'll fucking hate it when I have to breathe.
