Aurora

( a Rensaku = linked Tanka )

stalking lesser paths
hello dear boy I’ve missed you
stretching shadow’s cast

do you see me in my pale
while all around is somber

*
look the playful flare
the iridescent iris
it covers for my sorrow

to never mind the lovelorn
I stack their dead like cordwood

*
here your kind afloat
tho’ you’re so diff’rent aren’t you
you know where I’m from

I slither down the river
while regaling the night sky

*
forsaken by sin
the colors of the rainbow
too few too many

air-brushed into Aurora
this is what God has left you
