Image for the poem Nocturnal

Nocturnal

Sharp light splintered throughout the day
Shards shattering the unstained glass
Delivered to these tired eyes
And striking at a fevered soul

She understands, and shares the night
And soon my fear begins to fade
Shadows that tremble at the door
Allow us to begin our dance

She leads me slowly to the floor
With her soft, cold hand holding mine
The darkness lowers, and prevails
But we can waltz then pour the wine.
