my emo feelings live in the projects of the heart
protesting the food stamp life
they're going hungry within my cold demeanor
where emotions aren't allowed
unless they bankrupt me
tears are money
they drain me of my energy
counterfeits are passed
I don't care, fuck you, etc.
cheap knockoffs of the real deal
soon they'll be doing a bid
for spreading phony feelings
my heart doesn't have time for that shit
even if I felt you soul deep
I would never admit it
I'll let the emotional part of me do time
behind the wall of denial
before I ever confess to having real feelings for you

Conversational....intimate
....you get to the heart of the matter....giving yourself permission to give potentially deal breaking honesty.
A preemptive strike against rejection at some future date.....
And so, the unprocessed contradiction, self-non-acceptance is the call for personal transformation....resolved by the algorithm of having been of a previous perception, you now have perspective and it becomes a paradox, unconditional love sorts it all out. So, poetry becomes the unconditional vehicle, full circle.
Pretty epic before a second cup of coffee on a Saturday.

Some tough lines here but also a real sensitivity. "Before I confess to having real feelings for you." You may not confess, but the feelings are probably there, well concealed. Great write, Brenda!
