Before Dawn's Early Light
It hits before dawn's early light
creeping in, I know it all too well
but can't stand, can't fight
vines wrap my choking neck
and lost is breath
screams lay silent
what's left is death
I sit patiently at it's doorstep
unable to move, unable to talk
just knowing I'm fucked
understanding's not in the workings
because I understand all that's that
laughter walks away into the distance
and I'm all that's left
the day drags me off unto the doldrums
I won't bite
demons hunger into the darkness
we're all lonely tonight
creeping in, I know it all too well
but can't stand, can't fight
vines wrap my choking neck
and lost is breath
screams lay silent
what's left is death
I sit patiently at it's doorstep
unable to move, unable to talk
just knowing I'm fucked
understanding's not in the workings
because I understand all that's that
laughter walks away into the distance
and I'm all that's left
the day drags me off unto the doldrums
I won't bite
demons hunger into the darkness
we're all lonely tonight
