Image for the poem Free Spirit

Free Spirit

Free Spirit wanders as she pleases
An independent creature of nature
A wil 'O' the wisp, Lithe and slender
A pale translucent creature so tender

Spirit of freedom, the very essence of life
A sprite of the woods, mountains and streams
Fey spirit or angel, dark temptress or fair maiden?
No one living dare tell and departed souls sleep

With men and women's souls she playfully teases
An artistic creative she weaves her dark webs
Paints the future lives of those whom consort
Unpicks the heartstrings of their tapestry
