Black Mountain
For three days
I've trailed your tracks
Through the high desert plains
I followed you home
I'm no lawman
But been hired as such
Biloxi paid me to see you return
Either dead or alive
I can barely stand
And my throat is parched
But know that I won't leave alone
You and I together
If I have to drag you back
Then I'll cross that mountainside
Cold and black
That man you left behind
His wife was pillaged
Buried six deep
I'm way too weak
To raise a hand against you
But my resolve is hard
Thick like a stone
I can barely stand
And my throat is parched
But know that I won't leave alone
You and I together
If I have to drag you back
Then I'll cross that mountainside
I've seen how it ends
With you slung over a shoulder
And a bullet come through
Impacting your brain
I'm tired of talk
I'll let fate decide this one
If you come out clean
Then I'll let it be
Otherwise, pull on me
I've trailed your tracks
Through the high desert plains
I followed you home
I'm no lawman
But been hired as such
Biloxi paid me to see you return
Either dead or alive
I can barely stand
And my throat is parched
But know that I won't leave alone
You and I together
If I have to drag you back
Then I'll cross that mountainside
Cold and black
That man you left behind
His wife was pillaged
Buried six deep
I'm way too weak
To raise a hand against you
But my resolve is hard
Thick like a stone
I can barely stand
And my throat is parched
But know that I won't leave alone
You and I together
If I have to drag you back
Then I'll cross that mountainside
I've seen how it ends
With you slung over a shoulder
And a bullet come through
Impacting your brain
I'm tired of talk
I'll let fate decide this one
If you come out clean
Then I'll let it be
Otherwise, pull on me
