So near and...
yet so very far away

I sometimes wander through my mind and wonder if the places and people I knew growing up are still there; I very much doubt it.

As Robert Frost said about life ... "it goes on ...." even when we're gone, surprisingly.

I read this as being written when there is an ongoing plague of murders, usually by stabbing, in London; I read this as being written when the infra-structure of high street is disappearing, due to on-line and or out of town shopping, with some sort of connection. As to what the connection is ... decay? I don't know but the poem leads to reflection ...
