This Man's Pledge

 

I pledge allegiance
 to my birthplace
The United States of America

I pledge allegiance
 to my birthright
This Southern State (Georgia)
 of which I'm a proud part

I pledge allegiance
 to my family
They nurture me
They depend upon me
They strengthen me
They are there for me

I pledge allegiance
 to my ancestors
They bled for me
They worked for me
They brought together all the pieces that created me
And gave me every beginning
 that allows me to develop myself
And leave behind improvements
 for those who will one day call me ancestor

(I am important, but I am a part of something greater and everlasting)
