Well Did
Welded to my heart
I feel her soul still there.
It’s more of an echo
of long forgotten care.
I am left with her dross
of molten careless tin.
Her fierce love I lost
replaced by pain within.
Well did I have to play
it out this thoughtless way?
I dreamt of us forever
simple living every day.
Welded to my soul
I feel weightless inside.
Still feeling a deep hole
where I now put the tears
I’ve cried.
