beyond the shallow purple haze

The words of this poem are a true reflection of my daughter's character. She is gentle, kind, polite, respectful, unassuming, smart, and mature in her thinking.  My first literary tribute to her was a song I wrote for her invitro.  That was before I knew her personally!  But having watched her grow and mature over the past 11 years, I was moved to pay homage to her character as she gets ready to transition to secondary (high school) education in the coming school year (2019-2020).
