[ Birthday 2018 ] Osmosis

       
Though this unlimited      
wellspring of Love for you      
runs deeper through
than any river above
or underground pond      
       
poetry escapes me sometimes      
       
Ahead on a rushing stream      
I can't seem to catch up with the      
banked overflow of ideas and rhymes      
       
I guess it's only natural      
having creative droughts      
       
or log jams of thoughts      
such as this piling up, but ...        
dam[n]        
       
And when two bodies of water      
are finally joined by words      
bridging the distance      
it's hard knowing      
   
who I am          
and who you are    
   
feels very far from what     
blessedly seems true bliss      
       
in my dreams of our      
osmosis
