Choice
This membrane does not always hold
The demons crouched within
It could be I'm getting old
And now paying for my sin
But she provokes me in the street
And challenges me to fight
Another neighbor, far from sweet
But I dismiss her spite
I'm not one to shatter face
Despite being provoked
I attempt to maintain grace
And not leave asphalt blood-soaked
I might be the one who bleeds
Or she in a spreading pool
I might have demonic needs
But I won't be a fool
Better to observe silence
Ignore the squalling voice
Can't release my own violence
I always have a choice.

Fortunately it was entirely verbal. She couldn't find her dog and blamed me. Turned out the dog was in her apartment. I wish I could move, but I'm on Section 8 housing, so I don't have too many choices. Her lease has not been renewed so she's out of here. Thank you Brenda!

I'm so sorry that on this earth we still have to argue with stupidity my friend. Luckily they always end up falling. It's great that at least you'll have her out of the way. Thank God we have poetry to free our anger with. Look at it as your muse taking a deviation. The write itself is always impeccable. Hugs J.

I agree. The poetry is a catharsis. It's either that or my hot temper gets the better of me. An act of violence is not just wrong, but we'd probably both end up in the slammer. The cops around here arrest first then ask questions later. Thank you!

I think it's a bit like that all over the world. A poor man, trying to defend his rights gets arrested and a extremists delinquent gets away with rape and becomes President. C'est la vie! J

Almost always, I'd wager.
You rose above it and turned it into something creative.

Sometimes you might not have a choice but to fight. But, well said, sir Crow.

I have to admit I really wasn't much of a gentleman with this conflict. Turned into a yelling match, actually. Oh well. Thank you Flower!
