Dust of Olduvai

There’s an echo from Olduvai
A copper sun sweeps ‘cross the sky
Thousands of years have come and gone
On a song, that has just begun

            The beating of a Heart
            The beating of a Drum
            A song, old as time...
            A song,  just begun

A Journey started as we leave our home
Scatterlings rising, to be born
Thousands of years, but, still so far
a new day is born from this rising Star

            The rhythm of a Heart
            The rhythm of a Drum
            A song, old as time...
            A song, just begun

The glens whisper a melody, on the wind
A stream flows, the willows bend
A Journey started, but,  still so far...
Shines a Light from a Distant Star.

            There’s an echo from Olduvai,
that we share, You and I,
            the Nile to the Amazon
was Born on an Ancient Song

Author's Note
Fell in love with a song I heard many years ago from a South African band Juluka(also fell in love with African music) and I wrote this follow up piece.
