The dark skies blush at dawn;
taken from behind by the rays
of the life baring sun.
Another day peaks over our heads
like so many others, caressing cheeks
of those who rise or fall.
Who can say, tomorrow,
I will hear the clock strike twelve or,
I will be counting, endlessly, moon phases?
We have not the power against
the enduring ticking of the seconds;
we cannot prey the sands of time!
We are but useless fragments
of this forsaken kingdom called mankind;
how dare we think to set milestones?!
We are the destroyers of our own essence,
begotten by our own evil divinity;
a farce that has no reason for being, if not greed.
We proclaim to give unconditionally.
But we take back more than we give in!
We are raping our own souls; plunging into caos.
We are but wasteless particles of dust,
blown away by the slightest movement
of a butterfly's wings; shadows that fade away.
Bow, me must, our heads in shame.
We are a mistake of creation, but in our vanity,
we dare raise ourselves to heights we ignore.
Our scars are self inflicted.
We know not shame for our obsessions;
we feel no remorse for our scandals.
The innocent and the vulnerable
have been abused; the children die
of hunger, thirst and cold, upon our streets.
Rise up oh children of man.
Raise your voices so that tyrants can heed.
Raise your arms in defense of justice.
For every child abused or abandoned,
for the rough sleepers in their bedrock shelter,
for the foreigner, the helpless and those
discriminated, for gender, colour, condition or
creed, condemned by the well thinking,
mistreated by the chosen hypocrites.
There will be no second chance.
It is time to do or die. Wager on the right of history.
You will not be remembered for accepting a lie.
