Take your dreams to the willow,
Watch the clouds as they pass.
Little blue feathers in the grass
Past the ocean in the window.
Our hearts have found new years,
Haunted by all we used to be.
The waves meet with your tears,
Leagues from the thought of me.

Did you lie to me
When you never said forever?
I have heard the silences
That will take your place.

I burned a love note
Where the seasons meet.
I watch embers as they float
And turn to the empty street.
Your voice calls my name:
A ghost sauntering in air.
I turn to look, it is the same.
Only emptiness finds me there.

Will you take my memory,
And cast it in a wishing well?
Weep in the ripples it has stained,
With the songs I would have sung.
