9 Months

It was a thought
wondering was the nature of the
force behind my creation
physically speaking

all my life I've known my mother
to be an alcoholic
and one of the earliest memories
of my father is with his
hands around her throat

so again I ask
what kind of force created me?
was it an act of love?
a crime of passion?

i was the last born
did their marriage sour before
or after my birth?
did my mother drink during her pregnancy?
did my father beat on her
while i gestated in her womb?

i wonder....
what happened in those 9 months?
