~Inside a Shadow~

I move gently and silent in the corner of your eye.
Sometimes making you feel like you are being  
watched. I can make a mouse appear like a monster    
on a dark stormy night. My shape can change form  
to influence others that are like me. I am  always in  
the background, mimicking your every move with    
haunting mystery.  
   
Never will I take a single day off, never will I fall asleep.  
I will never judge you, never will I so much as speak.    
Their is no light without darkness, no darkness without    
light. However it takes both to create me.    
   
I can even make the mighty sun disappear every so often.  
I have no body, or shape that I can call my own. Neither    
the temperature, nor the weather have any effect over me.  
   
Long ago I was actually used by people to tell the time of    
day. Some will say that I can be possessed by the spirit    
world, and become a shadow person. Although I still insist  
that their is no affiliation at all. My time is always spent    
trying to play tricks on your mind. You can't hide from me,  
I'm always by your side.  
   
I have no origin, nor can I ever truly die.  
Perhaps I am  
immortal, I will be around until the end of time. Everywhere on this planet and beyond,  that's where I can be found. I can  be  the tiniest  little thing, or in an instant become the size of a    
mountain. Many times you have found shelter inside me  
from a hot sunny day. I watch over your pet's and keep them  
out of harms way.  
   
No weapon can ever harm me, I will never know the feeling of  
pain. I have never been happy, nor will I ever feel shame. I have
no concept what so ever of wrong or right. However if  you
feel you need a break from me, then just simply turn off the Dam light.
