The Heartbreak

This is... my message
And I hope you get this
It's too late to atone for the past
But expressing my past feelings should make sense
And it's tough because reminiscing about our broken bond
Gets me wrapped up in my feelings
So that makes it harder to solve
The problems that needed to be finished
I'm sorry to have been the one
To cause you the painful heartbreak
That you never even expected
I'm sorry to have been the one
To make you feel this type of pain
And left you feeling neglected
You wanted to love me
But I felt too empty
To let you get close to me
I brushed away your sympathy
And now... I gave you a glimpse to see
That we were never meant to be
I've now lost the empathy
That helped me be into you
Too full of shit to see the mistakes I made
Ego was too far gone to see your love fading away
It might be sad to say
But there wasn't a reason to make you stay
I guess deep down inside I knew
I didn't love you, yet I still fucked you anyway
I gave you more than what you could handle
Because you took a risky gamble
But now I regret it
Played around with your heart
And now I'm reaping the consequences
Of what I sowed
Your love sat sail on the ocean
My ego is now broken
My idiocy has left me heartbroken
So this is what I sowed
But I wish you nothing but the best
Now that I've gotten this off of my chest
I hope you find happiness
I hope you find solace
I hope you find the will, to love yourself again
As I gain the strength, to become a better man
I hope you found the guy that loves you
The way that you love me
Maybe one day, I'll find a woman like you
And love her, the way that you once loved me
I hope you find what you're looking for
And learn to be happy with yourself
As I continue on this journey called life
To gain knowledge and rebuild myself
